Since September I'm working on the 3rd season of "The Amazing World of Gumball" as the 3D (Animation) Supervisor. It has been a great experience so far. Check out the first and second season, can't recommend them enough.

Trailer of the Project I currently working on. So far it's a great learning experience. Working with so many talented people is intimidating and inspiring at the same time.

„Descendants“ is a short done by some friends of mine. I just helped them by animating some of the 'deer like animal' scenes. A few days ago it has been released on CG Society. - Synopsis: The two main characters are flowers (voiced by Whoopi Goldberg and Christy Scott Cashman) who grow on the edge of a clearing next to one another. One is old and jaded by a mysterious history - the other one still young, vivid and curious. Destiny has brought these two together and it seems as if they would exist without possibility for change, until one day a visitor to the clearing brings something unexpected to their lives.

After animating effects for almost 12 hours a strange inner feeling to do another short animation test came over me on my way back home ... why... I have no idea 🙂 ... It's nothing fancy, I only spend 45 min so don't expect to much ... In the end I played around with Maya's Hardware Render Buffer and I was surprised how well it works. It's almost as fast as playblasting but looks way much better because of antialiasing plus you can have motion blur... For anyone who is interested ... Maya >> Window >> Rendering Editors >> Hardware Render Buffer. Under the Render tap you'll find Attributes, just play with them until you like the result.

DONE ... This is my final version. The background still needs some work ... a friend of mine is working on it ... I hope I can render the it during the the Holidays. Thanks to everyone who helped me on this and a special thanks to Goro Fujuita, who was like a second mentor during the whole progress 🙂

Almost done :), I still need to work a bit on the lip sync especially on Shot 3 and doing some more polishing but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel (German phrase, not sure if it makes sense in English 😉 )

This week I polished a lot, body mechanic wise it's pretty final maybe some last little tweaks. Only the lip sync wasn't touched :).

Grrrr ... unfortunately I didn't managed it to bring the rest of the sequence to spline, shot 5 still blocked 🙁 ... 3 weeks left to finish the assigment, so there is still enough time ;).
