The Gruffalo was voted runner up for the Audience Award at this year’s Palm Springs International Short Film Festival.

I still can’t believe it but ‘The Gruffalo’ has won the Award for best TV special at Annecy 2010. And Studio Soi’s second Short ‘Der Kleine und das Biest – The Little Boy and the Beast’ got the Cristal for best TV production … 2010 if definitely a good year for Soi.

Last Wednesday Jakob (one of the Gruffalo Directors) took me to the PRIX JEUNESSE ceremony which was a lot of fun especially because Studio Soi was quite successful. “The Little Boy and the Beast” was awarded in the category “Up to 6, Fiction”, “The “Gruffalo” won both the Prix Jeunesse in the category “7 – 11 Fiction” and the “Prix Jeunesse of the Children’s Jury”.

17th Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film
Last Sunday the Gruffalo won the first prize at the 17th Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) in the category ‘Tricks for Kids’. Congrats to everyone who worked on it. Let’s hope for more

Film Awards Nominations
A few days ago the BAFTA nominations where announced and I’m really happy that the The Gruffalo is nominated for the Orange British Academy Film Awards in 2010 in the category SHORT ANIMATION. Let’s hope for the best

Yeah that’s right, I won one of the AnimationMentor Student Choice Awards and I’m really exited about it. I was nominated in the category ‘Best Silent Acting’, ‘Most Encouraging/Supportive Student’ and ‘The Walk Cycle with the Most Personality’ and I got the one for ‘The Walk Cycle with the Most Personality’. Thanks to everyone who voted for me

WANTED won two awards at the IFCT 2008 Tour Award. Both times Runner Up in the category ‘Best Comedic Animation’ and ‘Best Short Short Animation’.

Last Thursday (28th June) WANTED won the 3rd place at the Hamburg Animation Award 2007. Unfortunately I haven’t any photos of the ceremony yet, but I’ll post them as soon as I got some.
EDIT: Thanks a lot to Marit Brademann, who send me this two photos. The first one shows all the winner and on the second you see Andreas Deja delivering his speech about animation.

WANTED will take part in the competition at the Filmfest an der Heinrich-Heine-Universität.
It will be screened on november 22 in block 3 (20.30 -21.15).
